Kinini Coffee was formed in March 2012 by Malcolm and Jacquie, a portion of the proceeds of all coffee sold by them goes to help fund these projects for the long term. The majority of the farmers around the Kinini washing station are also widows from the Rwandan genocide and Jacquie, one of the founders of Kinini, is a key member of the International Women’s Coffee Association.
Norma Iris Fiallos owns the farm San Rafael, located in the Los Limos area of Corquin, Copan, she is one of the most progressive producers in the area. Norma inherited the farm in 1982, and today she is a member of the Aruco cooperative, which provides support at all stages of growing micro-lots. Norma is one of the most innovative producers in the area, with a vast array of different coffee varieties on her farm.
Epiphanie Mukashyaka founded Buf Café in 2003. She was widowed in the 1994 Rwandan genocide that claimed over 800,000 lives in 3 months. Instead of fleeing she chose to stay and develop and rebuild her families small coffee farm.
Epiphanie has become and inspiration to other female entrepreneurs across Rwanda's coffee community for her hard work and determination.
